Summer Festival - Taste of Mead - June 10, 2017



We are excited to announce the Taste of Mead Summer Fest that will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 2-8pm at the Mead Town Park! This year, the Summer Fest is being organized by the Mead Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Mead and the Mead Downtown Development District.

We invite you to come experience shopping among all the many vendor booths from businesses operating in and around Mead, as well as take part in a fine-art silent auction. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, music entertainment throughout the day and many children’s activities to take part in! We look forward to working with you!

Participation

There are several ways you can participate:

  • Vendor Booth to display and/or sell your products and services
  • Cash Donations
  • Volunteer to Help Out

Register for any of these ways to participate using the registration links below.

Vendor booths cost $25.00 for MACC Members and $35.00 for non-Members. Electricity for the booths costs an additional $10.00 and is extremely limited, so sign up today!

Participants are responsible for providing their own tables, chairs, electrical cords and tents. Payment is due at the time of application submission. Vendors may begin to set up at 12:00pm and be ready to go by 2:00pm. There will be a penalty for packing up early – you will forfeit the next year’s invitation to be a vendor.

Sign up today! Registrations must be received no later than June 1, 2017. You can register online or download a form to fill out and mail in.

Timeline of Derby Day Events

  • 11:00am- 5K Run/walk check-in
  • 11:30am- Race starts
  • 12:30 to 1:30- Lunch
  • Horse Shoe Tournament begins at 1:30pm
  • Mini Derby Races (kids races)
    • 2:15pm- Grades 2 thru 3
    • 2:00pm- Grades K thru 1st
    • 2:30pm- Grades 4 thru 5
    • 2:45pm- Grade 6
    • 3:00pm- Grades 7 thru 8
    • 3:15pm- Grades 9 thru 10
    • 3:30pm- Grades 11 thru 12
  • Derby Hat Competition-Ladies
    • Sign up for free by 2:30pm.
    • Judging at 3:00pm
    • Prizes awarded at 4:00pm.
  • Crazy Socks/Bow Tie Competition-Gentlemen
    • Sign up for Free by 2:30pm.
    • Judging at 3:00pm.
    • Prizes awarded at 4:00pm
  • The day’s events will finish up with the watching of the Kentucky Derby in the Town Hal community Room at 4:30pm!

There will be a food vendor and we will be serving Mint Juleps in addition to beer, soda and water.
